One of the beautiful things about nuestra ciudad is the way that you can pasar todo el dia switching it up between English and Spanish, dependiendo del tema.

UPDATE: POLLS CLOSED AFTERNOON OF 4/25, WINNERS TO BE ANNOUNCED AT THAT'S SO MIAMI READING AND FINALE

Cuando hicimos un call-out for el proyecto "That's So Miami," we never could have imagined the response that we got. A big part of the reason we did this was para que nos dijera la gente de Miami about what separates the Magic City from other U.S. cities. Resulta que we just love this mish-mashed manera de hablar, and all the ways that it represents who we are as a culture.

Ahora, a votar!

We have compiled una lista de cinco of the best Spanglish poems for your reading pleasure. Now let's show everyone proof that Miami can host a fair election.  See below for the five Best Spanglish poems, and be sure to vote in the poll (Poll Daddy) at the bottom of the page!

And be sure que chequeen el Tumblr website donde se puede leer de todos los submissions that we have gotten so far.

We are also looking for the Best "Ode to Miami;" Best of "Ode to Miami Flaws;" Best "Ode to Miami Food" and Best "Traffic Ballad."  All the winners will be announced at our That's So Miami Contest Reading this Sunday, April 28 at 4:30 p.m. at the Betsy Hotel.

Winners will also be invited to read their poems and share a stage with poet Richard Blanco, who participated in this year's U.S presidential inauguration, on Sunday at the O, Miami Finale at the New World Center at 7:00 p.m.
