DJ Le Spam Tries To "Preserve The Art Of Analog"

Andrew Yeomanson, a.k.a. DJ Le Spam, works the tape machine at his studio.

  Andrew Yeomanson, also known as DJ Le Spam of the Spam Allstars, is looking to preserve the art of analog recording at his studio in North Miami. At City of Progress Studios, Yeomanson not only records bands on vintage equipment -- like Hammond B-3 organs and MCI tape machines -- but transfers digitizes all the audio.

His project earned him a spot as a finalist for this year's Knight Arts Challenge.

Nora Chipaumire To Perform Excerpt Tonight Of “Rite Riot” At MDC Live Arts

For the past month, dance artist and creator Nora Chipaumire has led a group of Miami-based dancers, choreographers, performance artists and educators for the inaugural MDC Live Arts Lab, a Knight Arts Challenge Grantee. The goal of the MDC Live Arts Lab intensive is to bring nationally and internationally renowned artists like Chipaumire to Miami for the benefit of Miami artists.
