Charlie Rose has recorded an interview in Damascus with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. This special will run in its entirety in a special presentation on PBS tonight, Monday, September 9, at 9:00 PM. This is the first television interview that Assad has given to an American news outlet in two years. Rose interviewed Assad at the presidential palace in Damascus on Sunday. Rose said that Assad denied that he had anything to do with the chemical weapons attack.
